  清华大学美术学院美术馆记

 

美术馆对于美术学院而言是交流的必须，更是一种研究的方式。自1956年中央工艺美术学院创校以来，先有光华路校园礼堂侧厅的小展厅，1991年1号楼建成后又专辟一楼、地下半层及下沉花园为正式展览空间，2005年迁入清华园后，又临时将B区的素描大厅用作展厅。忽忽五十余年，耄耋大师或青年学子，“国油版壁”或艺术设计，长江前浪后浪，有多少佳作在此面世长留艺史。2009年3月，学院鉴于临时展厅空间不足及安全隐患等原因，遂决定改造原有空间为“学院美术馆”，在不改动建筑格局的前提下设计美术馆的空间和视觉系统，并由此建立展览学术审查机制和开展美术馆常态管理。5月正式完成，因记之。

In Memory of the Foundation of

The Visual Art Center of Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University

 

 

An exhibition space is indispensable to art schools, for exhibitions provide an opportunity for faculty, students, and the public to communicate, and also to study art. The Central Academy of Craft and Arts was established in 1956. In the beginning, it got a wing of the auditorium in its former campus on Guanghua Avenue as the exhibition space. Then, in the year 1991, with the accomplishment of The Building No.1, the Academy opened a formal Exhibition Hall using the ground floor, basement and the lower-garden. After the Academy moved to Tsinghua University in 2005, the Academy used the Drawing Hall in B Block as an exhibition space. Over the past fifty years, senior figures and young artists associated with this Academy who make Chinese paintings, oil paintings, prints, mural paintings and do crafts and designs, have created numerous excellent works of art. The former temporary exhibition space is inadequate. Because of safety concerns and other considerations, the Academy decided in March 2009 to utilize some parts of the present space to create a Visual Art Center. Without changing the architectural structure, a unique exhibition space with its own visual guide system, academic jury and administration system finally took shape. The reconstruction was completed in May. This notice commemorates the conclusion of this construction.
